A Few Words

I leave in Mount Athos since I was 17 years old. In the Monastery of St Paul I had the honor to be taught cookery. In Mylopotamos, I took charge of the laborious restoration effort to revive the Monastery, giving Mylopotamos a new beginning. In the same time, with absolute respect to the long time tradition and according to the moral of the elders, revived the vineyards and built a state of the art winery. Today, in Mylopotamos we produce the organic wines of "Mylopotamos", which are recognized in international wine contests all over the world. In addition, I continue to cook and I am the writer of the book "The cuisine of the Holy Mountain Athos", which is published and translated in eight languages. I am a member of the Chefs Club of North Greece and I have participated in several gastronomy congresses as the main speaker and cook of the Mount Athos Cuisine. In the global gastronomy congress, held in Thessaloniki in September of 2016, I presented the diet of the monks in front of two thousand chefs.

Greek products are considered to be in excellent quality. Mediterranean and Mount Athos diet are considered to be the best for human health and a firewall against many diseases. My vision is to promote the monks diet in many restaurants and people all over the world, in order to return to our past, where food was a nature's child.

Ο Π. ΕΠΙΦΑΝΙΟΣ Ο ΜΥΛΟΠΟΤΑΜΙΝΟΣ  ΤΙΜΑΤΑΙ ΜΕ ΤΟΝ ΕΠΙΣΗΜΟ ΤΙΤΛΟ ΤΟΥ «ΠΡΕΣΒΕΥΤΗ ΤΗΣ ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΗΣ ΓΑΣΤΡΟΝΟΜΙΑΣ 2020 & 2021»

Ο Πατέρας Επιφάνιος, ο «αρχιμάγειρας» του Αγίου Όρους τιμήθηκε από τον οργανισμό GREEK TASTE BEYOND BORDERS® GTBB με τον ανώτατο τίτλο που υπάρχει για την ελληνική γαστρονομία σήμερα, αυτόν του επίσημου «Πρεσβευτή της Ελληνικής Γαστρονομίας® 2020 & 2021». Στο Άγιο Όρος συμπληρώνει κοντά πενήντα χρόνια στη Μονή της Αγίας Λαύρας, καλλιεργώντας αμπέλια, παράγοντας κρασί, και μαγειρεύοντας την αγιορείτικη κουζίνα. Το συγγραφικό του έργο με το βιβλίο του «Μαγειρική του Αγίου Όρους» έχει εκδοθεί και μεταφραστεί σε οκτώ γλώσσες, μεταφέροντας σε όλο τον κόσμο παραδοσιακές αγιορείτικες συνταγές της ελληνικής κουζίνας. Με αυτόν τον τρόπο έχει συνδράμει και συνεχίζει μέχρι σήμερα, στη διάδοση των ελληνικών προϊόντων και της ελληνικής γαστρονομίας, υπογραμμίζοντας παράλληλα την υψηλή της διατροφική αξία για τον άνθρωπο. Συμμετείχε φέτος και στα Culinary Olympics στη Βάδη – Βυρτεμβέργη της Γερμανίας ανάμεσα στους 2.000 σεφ.

Ο Πατέρας Επιφάνιος, θα συμμετάσχει στο ετήσιο παγκόσμιο συνέδριο του GREEK TASTE BEYOND BORDERS® GTBB στο Κέντρο Πολιτισμού ίδρυμα Σταύρος Νιάρχος ΚΠΙΣΝ, ανάμεσα στους υπόλοιπους επίσημους Πρεσβευτές της Ελληνικής και παγκόσμιας Γαστρονομίας, υπό την Αιγίδα του Υπουργείου Τουρισμού, του ΕΟΤ και του Δήμου Αθηναίων, 19 Οκτωβρίου 2020 | Ambassadors of Taste Global Conference- Athens Greece. Εκεί θα έχουν συμμετοχή και οι καλύτεροι παραγωγοί της Ελλάδας και  εστιάτορες του εξωτερικού, επίσης πιστοποιημένοι από τον οργανισμό GREEK TASTE BEYOND BORDERS® GTBB. Το γεγονός αυτό θα ενδυναμώσει το διαρκώς αυξανόμενο business network του οργανισμού, που λειτουργεί έξυπνα και αποτελεσματικά για την διάδοση της ελληνικής γεύσης παγκοσμίως.
