Taught how to cook by his mother, the smells and tastes fueled his passion for fresh flavours, and he learned how to create impeccable dishes with natural ingredients. His lifestyle and environment showed him the importance of simplicity and a respectful approach to the kitchen. These values built the foundation and core of Chef Orestis’ authentic style, and is evident throughout every dish he creates. Inspired by the memories of home, becoming a chef was a natural extension of his childhood environment and education.

Following his passion, Chef Orestis relocated to Dubai in 2010, where he gained valuable experience working alongside Chef Izu. Through roles in prestigious restaurants including La Petit Maison and La Serre Bistro & Boulangerie, Orestis learned how to achieve the right balance in every dish, and how to ensure it matches and complements the environment that it is served in.

With over 9 years of experience in the F&B industry, Chef Orestis has gained a deep understanding of each aspect of the restaurant business, from day to day operations to new concepts and brand development.

In his current role as Executive Chef for GAIA, Chef Orestis will showcase his culinary expertise as well as his cultural upbringing. His priority is to share the Greek philosophies of generosity and respect of ingredients, providing an unpretentious approach to premium cuisine.
